Clutter
free kitchens
Keeping your kitchen clutter free can be quite tricky, especially if your
kitchen is small. Try incorporating as many extra drawers as possible.
E.g. you could have a drawer for a CD rack or a drawer for your trays,
a spice drawer, etc. Having large amounts of storage space is the key
for your kitchen to be clutter free.
Another way to keep the worktops uncluttered would be to install a metal
rail with a slide along rack for storage canisters, e.g. tea, coffee,
sugar.
Granite
tops
Granite is not only versatile in your kitchen, it is also more stylish
than ordinary counter tops. It is great for chopping food on as well as
taking a hot pot straight from the stove to the counter without it causing
any damage to it. It also creates the ambiance in your kitchen when the
light reflects off it making the environment warm and cozy.
Stylish
Integration
An integrated fridge freezer is a good option if you are more of an entertainer
in your kitchen space.
It is stylish and can be made to any design that will match your kitchen.
It is also great for extra storage space as you can add cupboards around
or on top.
Contemporary
designs
If you have a large open space that you want to create your kitchen in,
don't just think "normal" kitchen design. You could try a contemporary
curved capsule design, with a high gloss finish. The finish forms a reflective
surface, accentuating the rooms' light and airy atmosphere. The interesting
door shapes give your kitchen a personality and makes it a pleasure to
walk in every morning for breakfast.
Accessible
islands in your kitchen
Your kitchen island could be fixed into the ground, which is good if your
kitchen is moderately small. An island that has wheels attached so that
it can be moved around is quite an attraction in a spacious kitchen. You
could add an overhang so that it doubles as a breakfast bar.
Pull out racks and spice drawers are useful in your island. This means
that oils and spices are easily accessible when cooking.
To hide a busy preparation surface from guests, you could add a raised
bar area to your island. This would making the area pleasing when viewed
from another room.
Features
in your kitchen
Display cabinets are ideal in your kitchen for special ornaments that
you want displayed. You could have the cabinet with clear glass or Perspex
for the display, or you could have it glazed with a spot light shining
down on the inside to highlight the contents.
Rubbish bins can become quite an eyesore in a beautiful kitchen. A solution
to this is to integrate one into your work surface. The bin is packed
neatly away in a cupboard while a stainless steel lid is fitted into the
kitchen work top. Peeling vegetables will no longer be a fuss, just open
and throw down the chute.
You could also integrate a stainless steel kitchen scale into your work
surface. If you are one to weigh portions a lot, this would make your
kitchen look sleek without having to pack out a scale each time you cook.
Window
seats
Window seats can add extra space for guests to kitchens as well as extra
storage space beneath. You could add wicker baskets for vegetables or
drawers for storage. It makes the kitchen environment seem inviting and
welcoming.
