This Import imbuia melamine kitchen was remodeled with granite countertops. The wall cabinets have no top fillers above leaving the top of then open to pack and display items on. A big wall wine rack was also installed at the end of the row floor cabinets for ample storage. Instead of the standard 200mm bar rod handle a 396mm handle was fitted to the kitchen cabinet doors. The doors were edged with normal 0.3mm renolit pvc edging. The floor plan of the kitchen was also very open plan bringing allot of natural light into the main part by the breakfast nook. The fridge was placed in the scullery by the sink so that an extra tall larder cabinet could've been installed for additional storage space. The imbuia import melamine with the cream colored granite and brown speckles left a warm ambiance in the kitchen making it a pleasure to spend tedious amounts of time in. A simple but functional kitchen. |
The 2 drawer pot drawer cabinet was placed near the stove in the breakfast nook to make it easier for the cook to reach the needed crockery. The long bar rod handles were made of aluminium and and can be bought at places like Rocco, AFF, Cabinet Express.
The tall larder floor cabinet was fitted with a wall cabinet that had a door with a gaslift on it. A&D Distributers I have found sells these gaslifts for a fraction of the price than what bigger companies would sell them for.
The 500mm wall cabinets next to the stove had glass doors mounted on them. If you look closely at the door you can see the shelf shining through the glass. Yes..the shelf isn't glass but white melamine Bison board. This can only be done with frosted glass because you would be able to see the shelf clearly if it was clear glass. The thickness you can use for glass in cabinet doors is 3mm and for shelves 4mm is perfect if the cabinet isn't wider that 600mm.
This 45L bin from Addis was place in a pull out drawer cabinet with heavy duty extension runners. These runners can carry a weights of 40kg.
